Dangling

Dangling
By: James Dubeau

Dangling
Just out of reach
Of outstretched arms
My fingertips almost touch
Can almost grasp
Can almost make it mine
But no matter
How I contort my body
My arms cannot stretch any further
It would not be so painful
If I never had the taste
The sweet taste
Upon my lips
Knowing I was almost there
Almost had it
Almost achieved the desire
Once
Makes the craving
All the more
Infuriating

What Is This

What Is This
By: James Dubeau

What is this
What is happening
Why do I do this
To myself
Reaching out for that
Which I cannot have
Should not have
But I want you
And I need you
And you will be mine
My tasty little friend
Soon you will be
Inside of me
A quaint dessert
Of my liking
My little
Chocolate Extreme
Blizzard
Ice cream
Treat

Nectar Of The Gods

Nectar Of The Gods
By: James Dubeau

Here I sit
All alone
And the waitress
Does not heed
My need
Just like back home
Amongst the pool tables
Where the game is played
How long
Will it take
For me to receive
The beverage of the gods
It could be right now
If she graced me
With her presence
But I will not
Go ask for it myself
She should know
My wants and needs
Before I even ask
But if she cannot
Bring me a beer
Before I even ask
Then what is the point
Of it all
For that is her job
And I tip well
For the nectar
Of the gods

Untitled

A blank canvas rests before me
Icy blue lines gaze out
The piercing cold delves deep
A thin red line banks the side
Aggressions that counter balances the hate
Thoughts and images fly on by
None seem to stick to the fly paper of my mind
The page stays blank
Like a field of wind driven snow
Beautiful in the absence of form or shape
But yet craving, needing, wanting
A disturbance in the white nothingness
A thirst that needs to be quenched
By paragraphs, sentences, phrases
Or even just a title
