NaNo Woes
By: James Dubeau
Up all night
Work all day
Eye starts to twitch
Fingers start to bleed
Deadline looms overhead
Demanding to be finished
Many things call to me
Books to be read
Stories to be edited
Movies to be watched
Friends to be seen
Life to be lived
But it must be finished
This novel of the damned
Or else it shall haunt me
For the rest of my days

I am impressed with your NaNo progress. Here I am struggling to keep up and I have no job. I bow to the master. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you. For me NaNo works best in spurts. The first hour isn't so good, but once I get cranking I can stay rolling. When I write all day I usually average about 800 words an hour. This usually can only achived when I go to a coffee shop with no wifi. Weekends are great for this.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Anne. I'm sure that you will "Get-R-Done" before December.
It is now December 5th and I am finally recovered from my 9,000+ word sprint to the finish for the final days that was NaNo 2009!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing your novel! Now for the editing and revising and promises of not forgetting it in some hard drive or disk drive or flash drive [you get the picture] never to be seen again. =) We did it and now back to our regularly scheduled lives.
Those marathon days is what gets me going. I love those Saturdays where I crank out 1000 a hour for a good portion of the day. That is pretty much what I need to finish my story arc. Then off to the world of editing. Maybe I'll get a second draft done this year.
